This ring has been designed for mounting an Atik assembly (Atik 383L+ or Atik 4000 camera + EFW2 filter wheel + OAG off-axis guider) on the Takahashi QB0.73X focal reducer of the FSQ-85EDX refractor. Its 10 mm thickness is accorded to the 56.2 mm mechanical backfocus imposed behind the reducer to be respected. Although the ring may seem highly specialized, we decided to produce a series for astrophotographers wishing to convert an M56 thread to an M54 thread.
It's very important to calculate the total length of the assembly of accessories in order to scrupulously respect the backfocus requirements of your instrument ; mechanical backfocus is the distance between the last mechanical bearing surface of the instrument, a field corrector or a focal reducer and the surface of your sensor. If in doubt, don't hesitate to contact your Takahashi dealer.
Designed by our team and manufactured in France by our partner mechanical workshop in Colmar, a specialist in high-precision machining in small series, this ring is made of aluminum and anodized in matte black.
