A reflector is a mirror instrument on which additional lenses can be added to correct any aberrations inherent in the optical formula used (Cassegrain, Newton, etc.). Takahashi offers three ranges of refractors, with versatile, visual and photographic uses. The Mewlons have a long focal length and are intended for the planetary or deep distant sky. The Epsilons have a short focal length and a low aperture ratio, perfect for wide-field imaging. Finally, the CCA-250, with an intermediate focal length, is a mixed astrograph that gives its full potential in deep sky imaging and has a wide range of conversion accessories.
