Triplets

A triplet consists of three lenses. The addition of a third lens compared to a conventional doublet lens, combined with the use of ED or fluorite lenses, provides a significant gain. The assembly, mounted with a large air gap between the lenses, reduces optical aberrations to a minimum and allows almost perfect chromatic correction over the entire field. The result is impressive. Takahashi triplets are among the best astronomical telescopes in the world.
